The WORST customer service and lack of professionalism I have ever experienced. The manager on duty that day, Annie, was awful. I had to return a purchase I had made with a credit card that had been cancelled because our information was stolen. The sales girl had no idea what to do and so she called Annie, her manager, over. She then directed her to call our bank to verify that the old card (stolen info) was linked to the new card via the same bank account. At this point I had handed over my husbands license, my license, the old credit card and our new credit card--which she then proceeded to lay out on the counter in PLAIN view of all customers and workers for close to a full 10 minutes while she cluelessly fumbled with the telephone unaware of how to speak to a bank representative and then trying to enter in my bank account info as if she was me. Frustrated, I finally told her I didn't feel comfortable having all of our information and cards laying out for all to see and she begrudgingly handed them back as if I was crazy to ask for them. Finally, manager Annie came by and said she would take over and she continued to fumble around just as cluelessly on the phone, giving me reason to believe that this "policy" of how to return merchandise in this situation was not something that was truly a policy but probably made up on the spot to look like she knew what she was doing. Anyway, I finally called the bank representative from my phone, verified all the info that needed to be verified, meanwhile, Annie is rudely interrupting me saying she needs to speak with the bank rep now--look, you had your chance and failed miserably at it. So this is what really did it...I hand my phone to Annie and I can hear everything the bank rep is saying as she tells Annie that yes, both the cards are linked to our same account and then Annie (and I quote" says: "ok, so the cards are linked? Ok so the card with the number..." and she begins to loudly read off my ENTIRE credit card number in front of the customers and workers in the store. Instead of verifying the last 4 digits as any other person would- because the bank rep verifying clearly on the other end of the line that both cards were linked was not good enough...--she decides it is a good idea to READ ALOUD all of my credit card info on our brand new card that was replacing the card where all of our information had been STOLEN. Absolutely uncalled for!! We will never shop with American Eagle after this and the level of unprofessionalism displayed by Annie was enough to make your stomach turn. Awful.
