User Reviews present a great opportunity for consumers to find out more about your products and services. Reviews also offer you a powerful way to promote your business.

YELLOWPAGES.COM Users Rate and Review Businesses

You can now see "User Reviews" and five stars next to most listings. Here users click on "Rate It" to review your business or service.

Users select a star rating that corresponds to their experience with the business or service they are reviewing.

Users also enter a title and write a brief description of their experience. All reviewers will be registered YELLOWPAGES.COM users, and all reviews must comply with the site's published Reviews Guidelines.

Respond to User Reviews

Below each review appears a "Respond to this review" link. Click on this link, and then select "I represent this business and want to respond to this review." You'll be directed to a page that asks you to type in information that identifies you as a representative of your business. Then you can write your response.

Before your response is posted, you'll have a chance to review what you've written and make whatever changes you need. And after you respond, you'll automatically get a confirmation e-mail from YELLOWPAGES.COM.

All responses must comply with the YELLOWPAGES.COM User Reviews Response Guidelines.

Respond to the Good and the Bad

When you're responding to a positive review, thank the customer, invite them to return and maybe even brag a little. You can acknowledge what the customer liked -- your food, products, service, price, or selection -- and feel free to express that you and your business understand that these attributes are important.

Here are examples of positive reviews and responses:

Review:
My family and I go to Sam Smith Steakhouse at least once a month. The steaks and salads are delicious, the price is just right, and the service is always fast and friendly.
Response:
Thank you for the great review, and we look forward to seeing you again! It is our pleasure to offer you fine food and excellent service without being too expensive. Come back again soon!
Review:
Pipe Power Plumbing fixed my sink quickly and also let me know what other problems we might have with our pipes. This smart and reliable service was definitely worth the additional expense.
Response:
I'm glad that we were able to put our plumbing knowledge to work for you! Thanks for the kind words, and if you need any more assistance, we're ready to help with any of your bathroom or kitchen plumbing.

When you're responding to a negative review, be professional. Do not write an angry response. Instead, take a moment to understand the customer's concerns and respond to them. A negative review is an opportunity for you to win back a customer and convince potential customers that you are genuinely committed to quality, consideration and service.

Here are examples of negative reviews and responses:

Review:
I recently went to Sam Smith Steakhouse for the first time and was not impressed. The service was slow and not friendly, and the steaks and salads were too expensive. If they accepted reservations, maybe we wouldn't have to wait so long for a table.
Response:
I'm the manager of Sam Smith Steakhouse and I'm sorry that you did not have a good experience on your last visit. Thanks to your suggestion, we now accept reservations, so please call us and give us another chance to show you the great service and delicious food that we're known for.
Review:
I had to wait for five hours before Pipe Power Plumbing finally fixed my bathroom sink. And since then, there have been problems with our pipes, and we have to pay for the extra work. If you use these guys, be sure to ask about their guarantee first.
Response:
I'm the plumber who worked on your job, and I apologize for the delay. Sometimes we get too busy with some accounts and forget to call customers and let them know. We'll work harder on this in the future. Please mention YELLOWPAGES.COM so that we can give you a discount on whatever service you still need.
